Paulette Loyola Barnes, PE

Paulette Loyola Barnes is Executive Director of Operations at PharmPix, where she leads benefit, formulary and validation operations, along with the company’s Enterprise Project Management Office. An industrial engineer by training, she approaches operations through a systems-thinking lens, understanding how people, process, technology, capacity, risk and client impact work together to drive performance.  

Paulette brings more than 20 years of experience leading operational transformation, innovation, process excellence and quality initiatives across healthcare, financial services and technology. Before joining PharmPix, she held leadership roles in PBM operations, quality assurance and organizational effectiveness. Her experience also includes process redesign, capacity planning and technology-enabled business transformation initiatives focused on improving performance, scalability and operational effectiveness.  

At PharmPix, she has focused on building the operational foundation needed to support growth by challenging traditional approaches, introducing innovative solutions, strengthening operational disciplines, and transforming complex business challenges into opportunities for improvement. In 2026, she established the company’s Enterprise PMO, creating a centralized framework for prioritization, governance and execution across PharmPix’s strategic roadmap and helping transform strategic ideas into measurable outcomes.

Her leadership philosophy starts with clarity. She believes people do their best work when they understand where the organization is going, why it matters and how their contribution supports the bigger picture. While she enjoys solving complex operational challenges and finding new ways to improve how work gets done, what she finds most rewarding is helping people grow professionally and reach their potential. She believes the most meaningful impact comes from leaving the organization stronger than she found it and helping the people around her become stronger along the way.

Paulette holds a Master’s in Engineering Management from Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez. She is a Professional Engineer and Certified Pharmacy Benefits Specialist.
