Fabiana Barasorda Viera is Compliance Director at PharmPix, where she helps the organization grow grow without losing sight of the standards, safeguards and accountability that growth requires. Her philosophy is simple: compliance shouldn’t sit at the end of a decision. It should be part of how good decisions are made from the beginning.

She leads PharmPix’s compliance strategy, regulatory oversight and risk management, with responsibilities spanning policies and procedures, audits and monitoring, regulatory change management, investigations, training and vendor oversight. Her work has become increasingly important as employers, health plans and their advisors face greater scrutiny around PBM contracting, financial transparency, audit rights and fiduciary oversight. Fabiana works across the organization to help ensure PharmPix’s operations and client relationships are built to withstand that scrutiny, not simply respond to it.

An attorney and notary admitted to the Puerto Rico Bar and the federal bar for the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, Fabiana began her legal career in federal criminal defense. The work sharpened her ability to analyze complex issues, conduct rigorous legal research and advocate with precision. She later gained experience in real estate transactions and mortgage closings before moving into legal and compliance roles with pharmacy benefit managers in Puerto Rico, where she developed deep expertise in regulatory oversight, contractual compliance, accreditation standards and healthcare operations.

During her tenure at PharmPix, Fabiana has helped build and strengthen the compliance and regulatory framework supporting the company’s continued growth. She has developed and enhanced compliance programs, supported accreditation and regulatory initiatives, and reinforced the standards of transparency, accountability and oversight that have long been part of how PharmPix operates.

The impact she values most, however, is cultural. Fabiana has worked to build an environment where compliance is viewed not as an obstacle, but as a resource. One that protects the organization, strengthens client confidence and helps teams do their work with greater clarity and accountability.

Her leadership philosophy is grounded in integrity, collaboration and trust. She believes people should feel comfortable asking the difficult questions, that education is more powerful than enforcement alone and that the strongest leaders help others grow alongside them. She carries that commitment beyond her role at PharmPix through mentoring colleagues in the legal and compliance professions.

Fabiana graduated cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico and earned her Juris Doctor from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Law.
